crazy crazy times

Sorry it has been a little bit since I have been able to write. It has been insanity around the farm here. Scooter has gotten out of the pasture every day since I first blogged, and most days more than once. So I have been trying to figure out what is going on that is driving him out of the pasture. I think I finally narrowed it down to my horse Avante (a palomino that I adopted/rescued) that seems to be picking on him. I am just not sure what to do at this moment. I do like Avante, he is a cute horse and although he is unbroke (my project horse) he is very gentle and sweet towards me. He just doesn't seem to like Scooter at all, he actually picks on him ruthlessly. Poor Poor scooty, all he wants is to fit in :( I guess I am lost as to what to do at this moment.

  1. My suggestion, assuming you cannot build another pasture, would be stall one (or seperate them some how) and split the turnout between the two. For example one can be turned out for a few hours in the morning, and the other in the evening.

Or when you are home to watch Scooter, turn him out for as long as possible and keep Avante locked away some place else, then when you have to leave lock Scooter up and leave Avante back out.
